It started with previsualization in Unreal engine to get a sense of size and where hardware fixtures would fall. It also let us preview how 3d, video, and still elements would look before the actual hardware was built.<\/p>\n\n\n

I created a system that would allow us to align elements to the frosted patterns in the glass.<\/p>\n\n\n

I set up an image that let us see each LED and gave us a map of where elements needed to be shifted. We then used a series of keyboard shortcuts to align the elements on a subpixel level. Another shortcut saves the settings to an XML file for restarts and backup. <\/p>\n\n\n

Once the still and video elements were aligned, they would seamlessly fit within the frosted pattern on the glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
