The Jump is a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of jumping 13 police cruzers on a motorcycle. A real stunt man named Doug Danger wore a modified motorcycle helmet with 3 wide angle GoPro cameras mounted to it. The footage was combined together to form a full 360 video. The rider wears a VR headset and experiances what it was like for Doug from his perspective. For the spectators waiting their turn an external projector shows what the user is looking at and has additional footage from strategically placed cameras to show what it looked like while in the audience.
For this experience I worked on the software and video elements. The source footage was hand stabilized to make the experience more comfortable. Additional footage was edited into an overlay which plays on the projection to heighten the sense of place and reserve the climax for the rider.
